Management Consultancy for the Voluntary Sector

I’ve over 30 years’ experience of working with purpose in varied corners of the voluntary sector mainly as CEO or Director. This has included health, older people and politics. I am now free to support a small number of charities and their CEO’s when they need an extra pair of hands or eyes at the top table or behind closed doors, I can be a pair of ears and offer absolute candour.
I am also available for short term/interim roles.

I photographed every cathedral in England and Wales and my photos are in 3 books. I’ve photographed people and my images have been seen by over a billion people. I’m pretty competent in all situations and am available for selective bookings.

Speaker Biography

Marcus Green DipHE, BA (Hons), FRSA, FRSPH is a management consultant, strategic leader and former charity chief executive with more than three decades of experience delivering organisational transformation across the charity, business and public sectors. His career has been defined by helping organisations navigate complex challenges, strengthen governance, develop sustainable growth and maximise their impact.

Between 2016 and 2026, Marcus served as Chief Executive of Action on Pre-eclampsia (APEC), initially appointed on an interim basis to resolve immediate crises; Under his leadership, APEC was transformed into a financially secure, internationally respected organisation with influence across research, healthcare, patient participation and public policy. During his tenure he co-founded World Pre-eclampsia Day, now recognised in 45 countries, established the UK's national meeting on hypertension in pregnancy, contributed to Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists COVID-19 guidance, and successfully campaigned for changes to pre-eclampsia testing policy in Wales and Scotland. He also served as a Commissioner on the UK Maternal Medicine Commission and became a recognised media spokesperson on maternal health.

Marcus has co-authored more than 60 peer-reviewed academic publications in leading international journals, including Nature, The Lancet, The BMJ, JAMA and the American Journal of Obstetrics and Gynaecology. His work has helped bridge the gap between patients, clinicians, researchers and policymakers, demonstrating the value of meaningful patient involvement in healthcare research and service development.

Alongside his executive career, Marcus founded Bowbridge Green Ltd, a management consultancy supporting charities, businesses and senior leaders with strategy, governance, executive coaching, recruitment, organisational development and crisis management. Earlier appointments include Chief Executive of Cotswold Care Hospice, where he more than doubled organisational income, led the successful construction of a new hospice without debt, and significantly expanded services, and Director of Gloucestershire County Association for the Blind, where he transformed fundraising and service delivery. Prior to this he was Agent to a former Cabinet Minister.

A Fellow of both the Royal Society of Arts and the Royal Society for Public Health, Marcus is an accomplished conference speaker, facilitator and chair, having addressed audiences across Europe, Africa and North America. His expertise spans leadership, governance, organisational change, patient engagement, health policy and communications.

Away from consultancy, Marcus is an award-winning architectural photographer whose images have appeared in international publications including The New York Times, The Washington Post and Vogue. He has been principal photographer for three bestselling books on Britain's cathedrals and also runs a specialist business dealing in rare and signed first editions.

His varied career reflects a consistent commitment to leadership, collaboration and creating lasting social impact.
